Multimodal Neuroprosthesis for Daily Upper limb Support

MUNDUS: Multimodal Neuroprosthesis for Daily Upper limb Support

Modules integration
The modules composing MUNDUS will be differently integrated depending on patients residual abilities and will be composed into feedforward and feedback control strategies.
Two examples of modules integration are depicted in the flowcharts, the first one includes the case of patients having a weak residual capability of muscular contraction, they will control MUNDUS by muscular activation. The second one include the more severe patients, where gaze cantrol and/or BCI are used by patient to command the activation of the NMES for both the hand and the arm, and eventually motors will drive hand functions.
